KINGSTON – County Executive Ryan announced last Friday that with 40.6% of Ulster County residents having received a COVID-19 vaccine, Ulster County now has the highest percentage of vaccinated residents between Albany and New York City. Thus far, 72,496 people have received at least one dose and 43,963 people have completed the vaccine series. Ulster County has a total population of 178,599. This week Ulster County received 7,700 doses.
“This is a significant milestone in our pandemic response as we continue to ramp up our vaccination efforts in response to expanded eligibility,” County Executive Pat Ryan said.
“Ensuring that we can vaccinate all of our residents in a safe, rapid, and equitable way remains my top priority as we continue to work to increase access to this life-saving vaccine. While the increase in vaccinations is welcome news, we can not forget that we are still not through this. I am encouraging all residents to continue to wear masks, socially distance, and take necessary precautions to stop the spread.”
Following expanded eligibility for all residents over the age of 16 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, County Executive Ryan announced that Ulster County will list all available appointments on VaccinateUlster.com along with the County’s various social media channels. Residents are still encouraged to sign up for the email list to receive important information from the Department of Health.
