The Bats Go Cold as the Renegades Drop to 1-3

LAKEWOOD, NJ – The good news: The Hudson Valley Renegades pitched a one-hitter on Friday night. The bad news is the Gades lost to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 1-0.

Five Jersey Shore pitchers combined to shut the Renegades out, limiting them to three hits.
The lone run came in the home half of the seventh inning. Leadoff batter Bryson Stott walked and stole second. With one out, Gades reliever Charlie Ruegger uncorked a wild pitch to move Stott to third. After a strikeout, Rudy Rott was hit by a pitch to put runners at the corners. As Rott stole second, Ruegger threw another wild pitch, allowing Stott to score.

Ruegger (0-1) took the loss for Hudson Valley. Jhony Brito got the start and allowed a double to Stott in the first inning. That was the only hit the Claws would get all night.
Aneurys Zabala (1-0) got the win for Jersey Shore and Mark Potter pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his first save.
