Hospitality Group to Purchase Buildings

GOSHEN – The Physical Services Committee of the Orange County Legislature, granted the approval for the county to sell three Grand Street buildings in Newburgh to FSH LLC, a Sullivan County-based hospitality group.

Deputy County Executive Harry Porr told the committee he was able to negotiate the purchase price up from the original $1.25 million to $1.3 million.

That was not good enough for committee member Legislator Michael Paduch.

“We have an appraisal for those three buildings for $2.695 million and we are going to agree to sell it for $1.3 million? That is $1.395 million in appraised value that we are going to let go because we think it is going to get better,” he said.

Paduch was the only “no” vote in the committee to authorize the county executive to sell the buildings.

The company wants to develop a hotel-hospitality row with restaurants and other amenities with $20 million in private investment.
