47 Guns Turned In During Buyback Event

KINGSTON – An assault rifle, 15 handguns, 17 rifles and shotguns and 14 non-working or antique guns were turned in to Kingston City Police on Saturday, June 5, during a guy buyback program sponsored by State Attorney General Letitia James’ office.

The 47 weapons were redeemed for gift cards provided by the AG’s office when the weapons were handed over with no questions asked.

Since taking office in 2019, James’ office has taken close to 1,000firearms off the streets statewide through gun buyback programs. “Our neighborhoods are safer when we take dangerous firearms out of our communities and endure that they do not fall into the wrong hands,” she said.
