Memoirs: Blood, Sweat & Honor is Discussed

NEW WINDSOR – Earlier this year, the National Purple Heart Honor Mission was privileged to host its first virtual discussion with Derl Horn, the author of Blood, Sweat and Honor: Memoirs of a “Walking Dead Marine” in Vietnam.

During the event, U.S. Marine veteran and Purple Heart recipient Derl Horn recalled the fateful events of July 2, 1967 when he and members of Bravo Company walked into a U-shaped ambush just north of the DMZ. Horn also shared his inspiring and powerful message about how being drafted into the Marine Corps during the height of the Vietnam War shaped his life and how his faith in God helped guide him through the challenges.
