Rep. Maloney Returns $40 Million in Benefits

NEWBURGH – Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) has helped Hudson Valley residents recover over $40 million in hard-earned taxpayer dollars since taking office in 2013. To mark this achievement, Rep. Maloney released the following statement with local testimonials:

“This is a big milestone for our community. From day one in Congress, I have worked across party lines and layers of government to deliver meaningful results for the Hudson Valley. I’ve passed 41 bills into law, hosted over 180 town halls, and sent hundreds of millions of dollars to local government, and now, returned $40 million in hard-earned taxpayer dollars to my constituents,” said Rep. Maloney. “From helping local veterans access their VA benefits and cut through red tape to securing Social Security backpay for our seniors, my office and I are here to help.”

“I contacted Congressman Maloney’s office after months of struggling to secure Economic Impact Payments for myself and my husband,” said Kathie Lentini-Salmon, the wife of a veteran. “Thanks to the excellent communication and exceptional work of his staff, I received my payments within the week they promised.”

“The college I attended on the Post-9/11 GI Bill made an error that resulted in me not receiving the full housing stipend for at least six months,” said Reverend Wayne Keller, a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force. “Congressman Maloney’s staff advocated on my behalf to ensure that I received my payment in full. I thank the Congressman and his staff for honoring their promise of supporting Hudson Valley’s veterans.”

Since 2013, Rep. Maloney and his talented team of caseworkers have helped over 9,618 constituents, including 2,168 servicemembers, veterans, and military families. Rep. Maloney’s office can help constituents cut through government red tape with federal agencies, including the Small Business Administration for impacted business owners and the United States Department of Agriculture for impacted farmers.
