Senator Skoufis to Host Shred Event, Blood Drive

CHESTER – Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) will host a free community document shred event on Tuesday, September 14 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Chester Village Hall, 47 Main Street, Chester, NY 10918. Secure and responsible document destruction can be an expensive project, but thanks to the generosity of Hudson Valley Credit Union and Legal Shred of the Hudson Valley, Senator Skoufis will once again offer Legal Shred’s services for free, providing local residents with a safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible option for disposing of sensitive personal and legal documents. Legal Shred’s Mobile Shred Unit truck will be stationed in the rear parking lot at Chester Village Hall; attendees should turn onto Bank Street for easy access.

Later that week, Senator Skoufis will partner with the Red Cross to host a community blood drive in the City of Newburgh on Thursday, September 16. The drive will take place from 11:30am to 5:30pm at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center, 321 South William Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. Those interested in donating may schedule an appointment by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering the code “Newburghsaveslives” in the Find a Blood Drive box. New York is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage. This drive is one of four hosted by Skoufis in recent months.
