New Paltz Loses 5-3 to Sacred Heart University

DOVER, DE — The State University of New York at New Paltz equestrian team faced Sacred Heart University on the campus of Delaware State Saturday and lost to the Pioneers, 5-3.

Sophomore Devyn Looney was the only Hawk to score a point in fences, totaling 88 on Tillie to beat out Sacred Heart’s Hanna Lloyd.

SUNY New Paltz had a better afternoon in flat, scoring significantly hiring across the board. Alanna Ryan defeated Alyssa Kinney on Carlus, 88-71.5 and Brynley Smith out-dueled Danielle DeRislo after totaling 87.5 points to er 82.5. Looney put up a solid score riding Finnegan, recording a 86.5 but Lloyd had the best outing of the day and scored a 93.

The Hawks totaled 490 points, their lowest thus far this season while the Pioneers finished with 601.5.
