Vassar Defeats Mount Holyoke Last Sunday

MAHWAH, N.J. – The Vassar men’s track & field team completed action at the Ramapo College Invitational on Saturday. The Brewers placed seventh out of 18 teams with 61 points.

Vassar opened with the 4×100 relay with the group of Sam Lytel, Darnell Worley, Ryan Mazurkiewicz, and Tucker Quinlan, taking fourth after finishing at 45.34. In the 1,500-meter race, Simon LaClair placed seventh overall and crossed the line at 4:16.55. Jason Cirrito was 13th with a time of 4:22.72.

In the 400-meter race, Lytel ran a personal record of 53.93 for 17th place. The Brewers had four finishers in the top ten of the 800-meter, with Lukas Muzila taking second overall with a personal best of 1:59.06. Nick Redstone was sixth at 2:00.83, while Tim Jacques took ninth with a time of 2:01.51. Gibran Mourani was tenth and ran a 2:01.89.

Aidan Mayer placed second in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:35.45, and Andrew Blackburn was third at 10:12.93.

The 4×400 relay concluded the track events, and Vassar had Worley, Lytel, LaClair, and Quilan take tenth overall at 3:35.25.

In the triple jump, Worley recorded a mark of 12.84 meters to place fourth overall. Jeremy Frank has consistently improved his pole vault mark each meet and set a new personal best at 3.95 meters which tied him for second place.

Vassar next competes at its home meet on Fri. Apr. 8 at 3 p.m.
