Papadopoulos Sets Two Records at Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE – Mount Saint Mary College Senior Samantha Papadopoulos continued her standout senior season Friday afternoon, posting two school records at the Vassar Invitational. The Knights finished the event in sixth place with 32.33 points.

Papadopoulos took second for the Mount in the Long Jump on Friday and posted a seventh place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. She posted the new school record leap of 4.97 meters in the Long Jump and ran a time of 17.23 seconds in the hurdle race. She eclipsed the previous marks of 4.85 meters and 17.38 seconds. Papadopoulos also added a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1.11.70.

Mount Saint Mary also had strong showings in the field events on Friday from Jessica Kerrigan and KellyAnn Platt. Kerrigan posted a mark of 1.35 meters in he High Jump, good for a three-way tie for eighth place. Platt took seventh in the Shot Put with a toss of 7.34 meters and eighth in the Javelin with a heave of 21.09 meters.

On the track, the 4×100-meter relay team ran to a second place finish on Friday. The team of Joanne Kubat, Ashlyn Rivera, Platt and Kerrigan posted a time of 1:01.49. Kubat added a sixth place finish for the Knights in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:27.79.

Mount Saint Mary will be off until April 24 when they compete in the 2022 Skyline Conference Championship Meet.
