$1.2 Million Secured for Repairs to Family Center

POUGHKEEPSIE – On April 25, U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney joined New York State Senator Sue Serino and other local leaders and advocates from the Poughkeepsie Family Partnership Center to celebrate $1.2 million in funding Maloney secured for critical repairs to the facility. Rep. Maloney toured the Center to see the needed repairs first-hand and held a press conference to discuss the vital role of community health centers in the Hudson Valley.

“For individuals struggling with their mental health or families in need of support, community health centers like the Poughkeepsie Family Partnership Center are an invaluable resource,” said Rep. Maloney. “The Center is a lifeline for our community, which is why I worked to deliver $1.2 million for critical repairs to their facilities in this year’s government funding legislation. These funds will allow the Center to keep serving families in our community for years to come.”

Rep. Maloney was joined by a bipartisan group of leaders and advocates. Among those who spoke or stood in support were: Senator Sue Serino, NY-41; Brian Doyle, CEO of the Family Partnership Center; and Renee Fillette, Executive Director of Dutchess Outreach.

“We are so very grateful to Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney for making it happen. $1.2 million dollars – that’s going to be a big lift, it is a big lift, to all of our work,” said Brian Doyle, CEO of the Family Partnership Center. “There is so much good work being done here. The kids and the families deserve the services and the resources that are here at the Family Partnership Center, and will be here for generations to come.”

“When the message at the front of the building is that our steps are falling apart, and there are inadequate lighting and resources, it sends a message that you’re still going to have to fight through the system. When we have a welcoming entrance and a welcoming environment, the message is: we’re here; we’re ready; we’re capable; relax, we’ve got this; we’ve got you,” said Renee Fillette, Executive Director of Dutchess Outreach. “So, with enormous gratitude to all of the funders and for this tremendous gift, we’re – all partners – we’re all so grateful for this opportunity to continue to do our work to the best of our ability.”
