Instruments to be Provided Within Dutchess

Yusef House Of The Hudson Valley is a foundation that assists families and individuals impacted by criminal justice systems and the broken community. Mrs. Omega Alston, the Founder and Yusef’s mom is looking to provide qualified youth with much needed instruments for the school year. The program received a grant from Dutchess County, “Learn, Play and Create.” The goal is to provide musical instruments to children who reside in Dutchess County.

Please note they will not purchase drum sets.

● Eligibility – Dutchess County Resident
● Family impacted by the community justice system (not mandatory)
● Musical ability – participating in a school music program, renting an instrument, taking private lessons.
● Must have a letter of recommendation from a music teacher verifying the musical ability.
● Submit a copy of last report card and personal character reference indicating good citizenship.
● Must be willing to be photographed for social media postings.
● Parents authorization to receive the instrument and commitment to encourage their child’s music aspirations.

Families may mail a letter of interest to Mrs. Omega Alston, President of Yusuf House along with teacher recommendation, citizenship referral and copy of the last report card by June 13, 2022.
