Cornerstone President & CEO Will Be Retiring

NEWBURGH – After 31 years of service to Cornerstone Family Healthcare, Linda S. Muller has announced plans to retire from her role as President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the end of this year. Cornerstone’s Board of Directors has selected David Jolly, who currently serves as Cornerstone’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), as Muller’s successor. Jolly will assume the role as President and CEO on January 6, 2023.

During the three decades of her tenure, Muller has grown the Federally Qualified Health Center from a single site in the City of Newburgh caring for 5,000 patients, to a health system that today cares for over 55,000 patients at 24 locations across Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Westchester and Broome Counties.

“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to serve my community alongside some of the most compassionate, intelligent, and dedicated individuals in the business,” Muller said. “I am incredibly proud of our entire organization’s commitment to Cornerstone’s mission and what we’ve been able to accomplish together. Working with you all has been the privilege of a lifetime.”

“Linda’s trailblazing leadership of Cornerstone over the past 31 years has been nothing short of exceptional,” said Wayne Day, chairman of Cornerstone Family Healthcare’s Board of Directors. “I want to express my sincere gratitude to Linda for her countless contributions and steadfast commitment to the health and wellness of our community. Linda will be greatly missed, but we wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”
Succeeding Muller will be David Jolly. As Cornerstone’s COO, Jolly has been instrumental in leading the health center’s COVID-19 response, digital transformation—including a new electronic medical records system and telehealth services—and pediatric foster care program. Jolly joined Cornerstone in January 2014 after completing his term as Commissioner of the Orange County Department of Social Services (DSS), a position that he held for eight years.

“The Board of Directors is excited for what Dave will bring to the table as Cornerstone begins its next chapter,” said Day. “In his time at Cornerstone, Dave has demonstrated his dedication to the health center, its 650 employees, and the patients and communities we serve.”

“Dave has been a partner in advancing Cornerstone’s mission since he joined the organization eight years ago,” said Muller. “He’s a talented leader who embodies Cornerstone’s values. His expertise, leadership, and vision for the future of health care in our community position him well to serve as Cornerstone’s next Chief Executive Officer.”

“Linda has left an indelible mark on this organization,” said Jolly. “We will forever be impacted by her unwavering commitment to the belief that ‘health care is a right, not a privilege.’ I am honored to work with Linda on the transition of leadership to ensure Cornerstone is strongly positioned to meet the evolving health care needs of our community.”
