NEWBURGH – Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh raised $16,000 at its second charity golf tournament, “Take a Swing at Hunger Golf Classic!”

The golf tournament held on July 25, 2022, had 94 participants, who enjoyed a great day at the historic and scenic Powelton Club in Newburgh, New York. A post tournament celebration featured a Golf Awards Ceremony with team and individual prizes, as well as raffles, prizes and a dinner buffet.

“We were very pleased with the turnout and the generosity of our sponsors, donors and players,” said Joe Dirago, Golf Tournament Chair and member of the Board of Directors. President Carole McDermott added, “The funds raised by this tournament will help us provide a year of free meals for 16 of our most needy clients who are homebound and unable to provide their own meals.”
