Mount Alumna Named Mrs. New York American

NEWBURGH – Mount Saint Mary College alumna Kate Boydston, a committed volunteer, wife, and mother, will travel to Las Vegas to represent New York state in the Mrs. American pageant on August 19th.

Boydston won the title of Mrs. New York American 2022 on July 17 in Syracuse, N.Y. Her mission to share her #momsmaketime platform, and her dedication to community service, contributed in her being selected for this title.

“Promoting maternal mental health and showing my children that giving back to our community is our calling are my main goals as Mrs. New York American,” said Boydston. “Partnering with Mom Congress, MoMMA’s Voices, and the Maternal Mental Health Alliance gives me the support to continue spreading my message.”

Boydston will compete in three categories for the Mrs. American title: personal interview, fitness, and evening gown. The competition will be live-streamed from Las Vegas. The winner of the Mrs. American competition will go on to compete in the Mrs. World competition.

In addition to her job as an educator and her volunteer duties, Boydston also enjoys gardening and aiding women who go undiagnosed with mental health symptoms post-partum. Boydston’s husband, Chris, a psychologist, and their children, Hudson and Penelope, are also very active in their community.

Boydston met her husband on the Mount campus and got married at the college in August of 2015.
