Marist Soccer Records its First Win of Season

ITHACA – The Marist women’s soccer team defeated Cornell by a score of 2-1. The Red Foxes recorded their first win of the 2022 season.

The Red Foxes took an early lead with a goal form Samantha Caldarelli in the ninth minute of the game.

Cornell tied the game at one apiece in the 42nd minute.

At halftime, Natalie Kelchner had recorded seven saves against Cornell.

In the 69th minute, Samantha Sturno assisted Grace DiVincenzo to connect for a goal to take the lead, 2-1.

The Red Foxes held Cornell to one goal, to secure the win 2-1.

Samantha Caldarelli collected her second goal of the season in the first half.

Grace DiVincenzo scored the game winner for her first goal of the season.

Natalie Kelchner tallied 11 saves.

The Red Foxes head into a bye week. Their next game is Thursday, September 8 against UMBC.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.
