Cornhole For a Cause Fundraiser Tourney is Held

HUDSON VALLEY – In Flight, Inc.’s first Cornhole for a Cause fundraiser tournament occurred Saturday, August 27th at Dutchman’s Landing in Catskill to benefit programs providing employment and life skill training to adults with developmental disabilities who strive to live independently and support In Flight’s mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for their hopes and dreams, and support a meaningful quality of life. The event was sponsored by MVP Healthcare as well Dave’s Tree Service, KeyBank, Lambert Plumbing and Heating, and Sawyer Motors.

There were over 80 participants in the event’s three cornhole tournaments; a Professional Tournament for experienced players with first place winners Dave and Dymond and second place winners Drew and Tim, a Social Tournament with first place winners Chris and Kenny and second place winners Karin and John, and a Mixer Tournament where the people supported by In Flight, Inc.’s services can partner up with someone who loves the game and share a great time together with first place winners Jamell and Ty and second place Dustin and Kenny.

The Second Chance Band, a group of local musicians that have been performing together for decades, entertained the spectators and participants. Participants of In Flight, Inc.’s programs could be seen dancing with others in the community as well as on stage with the band to sing, play the tambourine, and shoot T-Shirts out of a cannon. The event also had an Airmail contest, a 50/50 raffle, auction raffles, as well as many great vendors selling food, snacks, and crafts.
