Ulster Senators Volleyball Falls to Dutchess

STONE RIDGE – Coming off of defeating Orange County Community College on the road earlier in the week, SUNY Ulster Women’s Volleyball returned home Thursday, where they hosted conference opponent Dutchess Community College Falcons. The Senators would fall to the Falcons in four sets, giving them their first loss of the season.

The Senators won the first set against the Falcons 25 to 23. The Falcons would then go on to win the next three sets. The team comparison was pretty much even throughout the night, with the Falcons holding the slight advantage in points 55.0 to 49.0, kills 35 to 33, aces 18 to 15, blocks 2 to 1, and assists 33 to 32. The Senators held the advantage in digs with 79 to the Falcons’ 69.

Angela Mayer helped pace the Senators with 18 kills and 3 aces. Julia Barnett added 9 kills, 4 aces, 15 digs and an assist. Esvetlana Mullins finished with 30 assist, 28 digs, 4 aces and a block. Alexandra Maher added 2 kills, a block, and an assist. Gigi Koch finished the night with 13 kills.
