LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Marist men’s soccer team had a 2-2 tie at Rider in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Saturday night.

Samuel Ilin kept the match scoreless with a couple of great saves in the early going, including one on a penalty kick in the 18th minute.

Jared Juleau broke the scoreless tie in the 28th minute. Jacob Schulman and Liam Salmon were credited with the assists.

Babacar Diene tied the score in the 43rd minute, and the score was tied at one at the half.

Schulman put Marist on top in the 53rd minute with a penalty kick.

An own goal enabled the Broncs to tie the score in the 62nd minute, and the score ended at 2-2.

“We needed to get points on the road and we did that tonight. A little unlucky to concede an own goal but it was a good game between two talented, proud teams. It’s been a funny year and we know what we have in front of us. We will rest up and get ready for the trip up north Wednesday,” said Coach Viggiano.

Marist is now 2-4-1 in MAAC play and 6-6-2 overall.
