NEWBURGH – The Family and Community Engagement Team (FACE) welcomed 135 families to a special event that provided turkey’s, fruits, vegetables, and a whole host of other supplies for a Thanksgiving feast. The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Stop and Shop, and Hannaford helped make this event successful.
Prior to the event, the district received 100 bags of produce from Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (MSLCH). The bags can feed a family of four and were distributed to our NECSD families. MSLCH partnered with Montefiore in the Bronx and Humana to provide a Healthy Thanksgiving Produce Distribution to community organizations and NECSD was selected as a recipient.
Members of the NFA JROTC, Technology Department, New Windsor School, Heritage Middle School, Heritage Middle School PPS team, Buildings and Grounds, and FACE/Equity and Access helped make this event a success. A special thanks to each school building who helped identify and support our families who participated in this event.
