Peyton, Dong Lead Raptors at William Smith

GENEVA – The Bard College women’s basketball team lost to William Smith College, 96-60, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

It was the most points Bard had scored in a Liberty League game since Dec. 11 of 2019, when the Raptors scored 68 points against RPI.

Bard got huge performances from Shirley Dong, Maggy Peyton and Mae Redmond. Dong, a first-year, went 6-for-11 from beyond the three-point arc, completed a four-point play, and finished with a career-high 25 points. She added five rebounds and four assists. Peyton, a sophomore, went 7-for-10 from the field, hit a three-pointer and finished with a career-high 20 points – and also led the team with 11 rebounds. Redmond hit a pair of threes and finished with 10 points, five rebounds and six assists. The Raptors went 10-for-20 from long range.

Two games remain in Bard’s season, and they are both at home this weekend. Nationally-ranked Ithaca will visit Annandale on Friday, and the season will end on Saturday vs. RIT.
