BUFFALO – The women’s swim and dive team finished strong on the final day of the MAAC Championships. Leigh-Anne Zanella struck gold in the 200-yard butterfly.
The Red Foxes finished the MAAC Championships in third place with 566 overall points.
Marist only trailed Niagara University (605) and Fairfield (609) at the championships.
Leigh-Anne Zanella took home gold in the 200-yard butterfly final (2:05.57).
Freshman Genevieve O’Neil earned the bronze in the 200-yard butterfly, joining Zanella on the podium (2:06.36).
Maddie Healey reached the podium in the 1650-yard freestyle final. Healey captured bronze with a 17:36.95 time.
Nellie Thompson earned bronze in the 100-yard freestyle. Thompson recorded a 51.44 time to reach the podium.
Melanie Nunn finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.07).
Leigh-Anne Zanella placed fifth in the 1650-yard freestyle final (17:40.96).
Two Red Foxes finished sixth and seventh in the 200-yard backstroke final. Veronica Stureborg finished sixth (2:05.67) and Molly Hewett finished seventh (2:07.12).
Lucie Gray finished in eighth place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.23).
Graduate student Madison Sweeney placed ninth in the one-meter dive (203.65).
Freshman diver Cassidy Morgan finished fifth in the one-meter dive (173.80).
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Charlotte Lepis, Sophia Swanson, Margaret Hartman, and Nellie Thompson finished sixth (3:32.21).
