POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist Women’s basketball team fail to win back-to-back games, as they drop a MAAC game on senior night to the Siena Saints who won this one easily by a final score of 77-49.
Both teams started the game off slow, while Marist was up 3-0 early their lead would be short-lived.
Siena ended the quarter on a 15-0 run, where the Red Foxes struggled mightily on both ends of the court.
The second quarter proved to be much of the same, Siena went on a 16-3 run, and the Red Foxes only made a field goal at 2:50 into the second quarter.
However, the Red Foxes would finally respond as they finished the quarter on a 10-0 run, but Siena was still up 33-16 at the half.
The Siena Saints continued to dominate in the third quarter, Marist didn’t make a two-point field goal till there was 4:33 left in the third quarter.
Despite a late-game surge from Kiara Fisher, the Red Foxes could not pull off the miracle comeback as Siena took this one easily by a final score of 77-49.
The Red Foxes will head to Connecticut to take on the Fairfield Stags on Thursday, Feb. 23rd.
