TAMPA, FL – The Marist softball team rallied from a four-run deficit in the late innings but fell 10-9 to Lehigh in its final game of the South Florida Showdown on Sunday.

Josie Charles’ RBI single tied the score in the bottom of the first.

Hannah Brock drew a leadoff walk in the second and came home on Kaitlyn Husic’s two-run homer.

Lehigh scored six in the bottom of the fourth, aided by two Marist errors.

After Pusey had a leadoff single and Maddie Pleasants drew a two-out walk, Reese Wilson’s three-run homer cut Marist’s deficit to 7-6 in the fifth.

Lehigh scored three in the bottom of the fifth, which included an RBI double by Charles, and extended its lead to 10-6.

Haley Ahr’s two-run ground-rule double brought home Isabella Manory and Husic and cut Marist’s deficit to 10-8 in the sixth.

Shea Walsh scored on a wild pitch to make the score 10-9 in the top of the seventh.

The Red Foxes had the go-ahead run on base in the seventh, but the game ended on a double play.
