Black Knights Softball Wins 2-1 Over Lafayette

EASTON, PA. – The Army West Point softball team (12-20, 4-0 PL) defeated the Lafayette Leopards (2-21, 0-4) by a score of 2-1 in the first of a three-game series on Friday afternoon. The two teams will play again in a doubleheader on Sunday.

Army has begun the Patriot League schedule 4-0 for the first time since 2017 and extends its win streak to five games.

Freshman Taylor Brown belted a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, proving to be all the scoring Army needed to improve to its 4-0 start in league play.

Starter Amanda Eaglin turned in another solid effort throwing a complete game, and striking out eight while yielding just one run.

In her last two outings, Eaglin has picked up two wins, logging 12.0 innings, striking out 12 and only giving up one earned run.

Taylor Brown was 2-2 with a 2-run HR. Brook Mitchell was also 2-2.
