Marist Baseball Tops Siena In Game Two

LOUDONVILLE – The Marist baseball team trailed for six innings, until the Red Foxes tallied 11 runs in the final three innings. The Red Foxes defeated the Siena Saints 15-6 in game two of the series.

In the first inning, the Red Foxes and Saints were held hitless. Drake Quinn pitched a scoreless inning for the Red Foxes.

The Red Foxes took a 2-0 lead in the top-half of the second inning. The Red Foxes scored off a wild pitch and a failed pickoff attempt.

In the bottom of the second inning, Siena scored five runs on three hits and five walks.
In the third inning, Dylan Hoy started with a single through the right side of the infield. After a caught stealing, Brian Hart walked for the Red Foxes. The Red Foxes left the third inning scoreless.

Jack Bowery came in relief of Quinn and pitched a scoreless third inning for the Red Foxes. Bowery tallied a strikeout in the bottom-half of the third.

Siena added to its lead with a run on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the sixth inning, Niko Amory and Justin Kapuscinski singled which put runners at first and second with no outs. Bayram Hot followed Amory and Kapuscinski with a walk to load the bases. The Red Foxes scored two runs on two fielder’s choices which cut the deficit to 6-4.

In the seventh inning, the Red Foxes took an 8-6 lead over Siena. Bayram Hot and Ethan Conrad hit back-to-back two RBI singles for the Red Foxes.

After multiple fielding errors by Siena in the eighth inning, Niko Amory brought home Marco Ali on a sacrifice fly. Justin Kapuscinski followed Amory with a RBI single which put the Red Foxes ahead 10-6. Bayram Hot singled for his second hit of the day and third run batted in which extended the Red Foxes lead 11-6.

In the ninth inning, Brian Hart extended the Red Foxes’ lead with a double which scored Marco Ali and Dylan Hoy. On miscues by Siena, the Red Foxes added two more runs which extended the lead 15-6.

The Red Foxes defeated the Saints 15-6.
