Student Scholars Made Ancient Greek Vases

By Ms. Catherine Crofton

NEWBURGH – Temple Hill Academy Students in 6th grade have learned that historians use archaeological and other types of evidence to investigate history. While studying Ancient Greece, students examined Ancient Greek Krater/Amphora vases that are now found in many museums. They learned how the geometric designs and scenes of daily life and Greek Mythology have allowed archaeologists to understand the lives, practices, and beliefs of the Ancient Greeks. Students then showcased their artistic talents to recreate art history by creating replicas of the vases. They had fun learning about this aspect of archaeology!
