CORTLAND — The State University of New York at New Paltz women’s tennis team was on the road Friday for their first match of the 2023-2024 season at the Cortlan-d Tournament hosted by SUNYAC foe SUNY Cortland.
“A good start to the 2023-24 tennis season at the Cortland Invitational. We had a really strong showing in the singles, winning 19 out of the 20 singles in a one set format. Moving to the doubles, our team performed at a very high level winning 4 out of the 5 eight game pro sets. The team is looking forward to a strong and intense week of practice. Looking forward to the high level Vassar tournament where we will be playing some of the strongest teams of D3 which include Vassar, NYU, and Hamilton. And a very strong Army D1 team from West Point,” said Coach Rob Bruley.
The Hawks will return, September 29 for day one of the Vassar Scramble. The matches will commence at 11:00 AM.
