Marist Soccer Delivers Win Over Saint Peter’s

JERSEY CITY, NJ – In their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of 2023, the Marist men’s soccer team earned its first conference win. The Red Foxes dominated play on the pitch on, defeating Saint Peter’s 2-1.

Through the first 10 minutes of the match, the Red Foxes tallied two shots on goal.
Jorgen Thue Kristiansen and Adam Rustami recorded shots on goal.

Jared Juleau had a scoring opportunity off a free kick in the 29th minute of the match.

The goalkeeper for Saint Peter’s saved the on-target shot.

In the 34th minute of the match, the Red Foxes defense shut down a free kick opportunity from the Peacocks.

The Red Foxes and Peacocks ended the first half tied at 0-0.

The Red Foxes recorded six shots on goal in the first half.

Jared Juleau tallied three shots on goal.

The Red Foxes took a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute of the match.

Skyler Cunha delivered the first goal of the match on an impressive shot off a free kick opportunity.

The Red Foxes extended their lead in the 73rd minute of the match.

Albion Bacaj netted the Red Foxes second goal of the match off an assist from Adam Rustami.

In the 88th minute of the match, Daniel Larsson of Saint Peter’s scored a goal.

The Red Foxes led 2-1 after the Peacocks goal.

The Red Foxes defeated Saint Peter’s 2-1.

“Deserved three points on the road against a stubborn Saint Peter’s group. It may be the toughest place to play in conference, so I was proud of the guys this afternoon. We stuck to the plan and grounded out the result,” said Coach Viggiano.
