Knights Struggle in Friday’s Double Header

WILKES-BARRE, PA — The Mount Saint Mary College Knights hit the road to Wilkes-Barre, PA Friday afternoon for a doubleheader, facing off with Keystone College and King’s College. Both games resulted in tough losses for the Knights, but not without respectable efforts across the board.

Game 1: MSMC vs Keystone College
In the afternoon’s first game, the Knights ultimately fell to Keystone College Giants in a 1-3 Defeat after 4 sets. The Knights won their second set by 5 points, and also had a close battle in their 4th just 3 points from a win.

Mary Milano lead the team in kills with a total of 10, followed by Erin Lema and Emma Wetzel with 3 each. Aubriana Boyce and Allie Kenney helped the offensive effort, each providing 9 assists for the Knights.

Vanessa Mleczko helped with a strong defensive effort against the Giants, totaling 13 digs, followed by Erin Lema and Isabella Isreal, who each had 8 and 5 respectively.

Game 2: MSMC vs King’s College
After facing the Giants, the Knights returned to action at 3pm against the King’s College Lions in their second matchup of the day. They faced a tough battle, falling to the Lions after just 3 sets.

Mary Milano had 8 kills, leading the team offensively, followed by Erin Lema and Mackenzie Warmoth. Aubriana Boyce helped the Knights throughout the match, once again being a leader in assists with a total of 15.

Although a tough defeat, Vanessa Mleczko totaled 13 digs along with Aubriana Boyce and Isabella Isreal, putting forth a strong defensive effort against the dominant Lions.
