Marist Takes Four Set Victory Over Canisius

BUFFALO – The Marist volleyball team beat Canisius 3-1 on the road to extend their win-streak to seven.

A slow start for the Red Foxes resulted in the Griffs going ahead early in the first set. Despite a late push by the Red Foxes, the Griffs took the set 27-25.

Though the Griffs led 7-4 early in the second set, the Red Foxes quickly took control, ultimately winning 25-18 thanks to a kill from Alyssa White.

The third set saw the Red Foxes go on two different four point streaks to eventually lead 10-7. Marist later won the set 25-19 after a block by Jordan Newblatt.

In the fourth set, Marist was leading until halfway through the set when Canisius tied things up at 11-11. Despite this, the Red Foxes did not capitulate. The set eventually ended 25-18 after a kill from Jordan Newblatt, securing the 3-1 victory for the Red Foxes.
