ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at Ferrari Field, honoring Aidan Athanasio, Emma Kuntz, Kylie Quinn, Mae Redmond, Emma LaPenta, and Claire Peet.

The Raptors then put in a strong performance against nationally-ranked and undefeated #4 William Smith, falling by a 3-0 score.

The Herons (10-0-3, 5-0-2 Liberty League) took an early lead with their first goal coming in the 8th minute of the game. Bard (4-8-1, 0-7-1) attempted to tie the game in the 14 minute as Carina Cooke streaked down the sideline to send a pass over to Kylie Quinn outside the box, but the play was cleaned up by Heron’s goalkeeper, Kirsten Nelson.

William Smith quickly followed up with their second goal giving the Herons a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Bard was able to limit William Smith’s shot opportunities with a strong defensive intensity, but the Herons scored their last goal of the game in the 55th minute to finish the match.

Seymone Rosenberg finished the game with ten saves for the Raptors.

Bard will close the season next week, first traveling to Utica to face SUNY Poly on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before visiting Skidmore on Saturday.
