Rodriguez Leads Marist at MAAC Championships

MONTGOMERY – Junior Gabriel Rodriguez led the men’s cross country team with a 19th-place finish at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Twin Ponds on the Farm. Marist finished in fifth place as a team with 115 points.

Rodriguez finished the 8km course in 25:47.9 to secure the top-20 finish. The rest of the Red Foxes’ scorers included Kieran Donnelly (23rd, 26:10.6), Sean Dearie (24th, 26:13.4), Tyler Perry (32nd, 26:13.4), John Ignacz (33rd, 26:35.7), Raffi Buchakjian (35th, 26:37.7), and Jeremy Mbogo (47th, 27:06.3). Dearie and Buchakjian earned MAAC All-Rookie honors as they were the fourth and fifth freshmen to cross the finish line.
