Marist Men’s Basketball Falls to Binghamton

VESTAL – The Marist men’s basketball team fell to Binghamton 82-59 in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Foxes move to 2-1 on the season, while the Bearcats improve to 3-2.

The Red Foxes knocked down four of their first five shots to start the game; however, Binghamton went on a 10-2 run over 3:45 to take the lead at 16-11 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half.

The Bearcats utilized a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 28-13 at the 7:57 mark.

Marist trailed 38-24 at halftime after being down by as many as 19. The Red Foxes shot just .346 from the field in the first half, including 1-for-10 from beyond the arc.

Jadin Collins and Max Allen hit back-to-back threes to open the second half for the Red Foxes as they cut the Bearcat lead to 10 at 40-30 with 17:55 to go in the game.

Binghamton’s Chris Walker hit three straight three-pointers to extend the Bearcat lead to 62-41 with 11:32 remaining.

The Red Foxes found themselves down by as many as 28 and didn’t get within 20 points the rest of the way.
