Marist Red Foxes Football Falls In Season Finale

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist football team fell in the 2023 season final against Bucknell, Saturday afternoon at Tenney Stadium. The Red Foxes dropped the game against the Bison 38-21.

The Red Foxes fell to 4-7 overall on the 2023 season and 4-4 in Pioneer Football League play.

On the first drive of the game, Bucknell scored a touchdown on a five-yard rush. The Red Foxes trailed the Bison 7-0 early in the first quarter.

On Bucknell’s second drive of the game, the Bison scored a second touchdown in as many drives. The Red Foxes trailed the Bison 14-0 midway through the first quarter.

The Red Foxes trailed 14-0 against the Bison after the first quarter.

To start the second quarter of play, Bucknell added to its 14-0 lead with a field goal. The Red Foxes trailed 17-0, with possession after the Bucknell field goal.

Bucknell added to its lead with a touchdown to the right side of the endzone midway through the second quarter.

The Red Foxes trailed 24-0 against the Bison.

The Red Foxes late in the second quarter had an impressive drive that resulted in a touchdown.

Logan Brabham delivered a pass to Matt Stianche with time expired in the second quarter for the touchdown.

The Red Foxes trailed Bucknell at the half 24-7.

With 11 minutes to play in the third quarter, Bucknell extended its lead to 31-7 over the Red Foxes with a touchdown.

Bucknell added to its lead midway through the third quarter with a touchdown.

The Red Foxes trailed 38-7 against the Bison.

To start the fourth quarter, the Red Foxes cut into the Bison lead with a touchdown.

Brabham threw a nine-yard pass to Mohamed Diawara for the Red Foxes second touchdown of the game.

With eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Amin Woods broke a run of 34 yards which put the Red Foxes in Bucknell territory.

The Red Foxes special teams blocked a field goal attempt with three minutes to play in the game.

With 46 seconds left to play in the game, the Red Foxes cut into the Bucknell lead with a passing touchdown.

Brabham threw an eight-yard pass deep into the left endzone to Stianche for the score.

Brabham and Stianche connected for their second touchdown of the game.

The Red Foxes fell to Bucknell 38-21.
