Sen. Skoufis Secures $359,000 For Cornwall

CORNWALL – Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange County) joined local officials to celebrate $359,000 in grant funding awarded to the Cornwall Central School District. The funding will be allocated to enhance the school district’s security infrastructure as well as revamp its recreational and athletic facilities. This significant investment was secured through the Senator’s efforts to bolster public safety and foster an enriched educational environment for local families.

“The educational environment a student experiences plays a crucial role in shaping their capacities and academic success,” said Skoufis. “This substantial funding will enrich our young learners with safe, modern facilities for physical and social activity. I am pleased to reinvest these dollars back into their educational journeys, ensuring a supportive environment for development.”

“As the parent of two children in the School District, I can’t think of a better way to reinvest our hard-earned tax dollars than to invest in security infrastructure and upgrades to athletic facilities which will help keep our kids safe.” said Town of Cornwall Supervisor Josh Wojehowski.

“The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. We are grateful for Senator Skoufis and his ongoing efforts to support the Cornwall Central School District.” said Superintendent of Schools Terry Dade.
