POUGHKEEPSIE – Freshman guard Josh Pascarelli of the Marist men’s basketball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week last Monday.

Pascarelli scored a career-high 26 points and hauled in a career-high seven rebounds as Marist earned a 63-53 road win at Dartmouth in its only game of the week on Saturday.

Pascarelli shot 10-for-18 from the field and 6-for-12 from three-point range. He added two assists and a blocked shot. With Marist clinging to a three-point lead in the final minutes, Pascarelli scored on three consecutive possessions as the Red Foxes boosted their lead to nine. He poured in eight points in a span of 1:08.

On the season, Pascarelli is second on the Red Foxes with an average of 10.1 points per game. He is shooting .470 from the field, .372 from three-point range, and is also averaging 3.3 rebounds per game.

This is the first MAAC weekly award won by Pascarelli in his career, and it is the first won by a Red Fox this season.
