NEWBURGH – Students in Ms. DiCola’s first-grade class at Horizon on Hudson engaged in an SEL lesson with Social worker Mrs. Saint Louis. The lesson included a powerpoint about Conflict Resolution using the “Bounce or Splat” strategy. Students were engaged using task cards, and movement. They had to work with a partner to decide whether they would “bounce” or “splat” when faced with a problem. NFA West Intern, Rashawn Hamilton, helped students read their task cards carefully. We love working with Mrs. Saint Louis to help deal with big emotions.
