Bard Drops Home League Match to St. Lawrence

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON — The Bard College women’s basketball team could not overcome a halftime deficit on Saturday as it dropped a Liberty League matchup to the Saints of St. Lawrence, 59-48, at Stevenson Athletic Center.

Bard (4-7, 0-5 Liberty League) had three players with double-digit points, with sophomore Shirley Dong leading the Raptors with 11 points. Senior Mae Redmond and first-year Erin Tobes had 10 points each. Tobes’ 10 points are a new career-high, and was perfect from the line, going 4-of-4 while adding two assists and two rebounds.

First-year Lexi Miller had her third consecutive game with double-digit rebounds with 12. Miller added four points, two assists, and a block. Fellow first-year Aislynn Dixon added seven points and two steals, and two rebounds.

The Raptors started off strong in the first quarter, only trailing by five points. The Saints switched gears in the second quarter and went on an 8-0 run, but Bard was able to stop the offensive run by St. Lawrence with a three-pointer from Dong. Bard held St. Lawrence to single-digit in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Saints 15-7.
