OLD WESTBURY – The Mount Saint Mary College Knights delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon as they cruised to a 73-39 victory over Old Westbury at the Clark Athletic Center. With this win, the Knights improved their season record to an impressive 16-7 overall, and 15-3 in the Skyline Conference.

From the opening tip-off, the Knights asserted their dominance on both ends of the court.

The first quarter set the tone for the game, with Mount Saint Mary taking a commanding 26-11 lead. The team’s offensive efficiency combined with relentless defensive pressure proved too much for Old Westbury to handle throughout the contest.

Head coach Marion Dietz expressed her satisfaction with the team’s performance, especially considering the challenges they faced. “Another great whole team win with another shortened bench. Players stepped up in response to Tuesday, and I could not be prouder of this group,” said Coach Dietz.

Leading the charge for the Knights was guard Charlotte Twohig, with 19 points, including two three-pointers. Sara Cashin contributed 11 points, while Lauren Petrie displayed her versatility with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.

On the defensive end, Casey Love and Shannon Phelan were instrumental in disrupting Old Westbury’s offense, each contributing multiple steals and forcing turnovers.

The Knights’ depth was on full display as well, with contributions coming from Angelina Donato, Ava DiScala, and Ashley Sadowski off the bench, demonstrating the team’s strength across the roster.
