Marist Red Foxes Softball Wins Fourth Straight Game

BOILING SPRINGS, NC – The Marist softball team won its fourth straight game on Sunday.

The Red Foxes closed out play in the Red & Black Classic with a 6-2 victory over host Gardner-Webb.

Marist opened the scoring in first, when Haley Ahr’s sacrifice fly brought home Miah McDonald.

After Gardner-Webb tied the game in the bottom of the second, Marist re-claimed the lead in the third when McDonald’s sacrifice fly brought in Peyton Pusey.

Gardner-Webb loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, but Anna Sidlowski recorded two strikeouts to end the inning.

The Red Foxes added three in the fifth on an RBI triple from McDonald and RBI doubles from Maddie Pleasants and Ahr.

Pusey led off the seventh with a double, and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Ahr.
Gardner-Webb added one in the bottom of the seventh.
