Rough Outing for Mount Baseball On The Road

ASHEBORO, N.C. – The Mount Saint Mary College Baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon at McCrary Park. The Knights fell in the first game by a score of 23-10, and struggled offensively in the second game with a score of 14-1.

Game 1: Greensboro 23, Mount Saint Mary 10
The Knights got off to a good start in the first game, scoring five runs in the first two innings. However, Greensboro would respond with a big seven-run inning in the second and never looked back.

Chris Calvario led the Knights offensively in the first game, going 1-for-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Tyler Van De Bogart also had a good day at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit, a run, and three RBI.

On the mound, Liam Horan took the loss for the Knights. He allowed eight runs on eight hits in just 1.2 innings of work.

Game 2: Mount Saint Mary 1, Greensboro 14
The second game was a much different affair, as the Knights struggled to generate offense. The Knights were able to scratch across their only run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a single to right field by Stephen Volk which brought in Elijah Duprey.
