Marist Red Foxes Baseball Splits Doubleheader

EMMITSBURG, MD– The Marist baseball team split a MAAC doubleheader against Mount St. Mary’s, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes defeated the Mountaineers in the first game 4-1 but fell in the second 12-9.

Game One
The Red Foxes started the first inning with runners in scoring position with no outs.

Ethan Conrad walked.

Johnny Decker followed Conrad with a single.

Both Conrad and Decker advanced on a wild pitch with one out in the inning.

The Red Foxes were held scoreless in the inning.

Tyler Hartley pitched a scoreless first inning for the Red Foxes.

Tyler Hartley followed the first inning by striking out the side in the second inning.

In the third inning, Danny Moshier led off with a walk for the Red Foxes.

Johnny Decker recorded his second single of the day with one out in the inning.

The Red Foxes put runners in scoring position with one out.

Hartley pitched a fourth consecutive scoreless inning for the Red Foxes.

In the top-half of the fifth inning, Justin Kapuscinski doubled with two outs in the inning.

Hot followed Kapuscinski with an intentional walk.

Kyle Pollack followed Hot with a walk, which loaded the bases with two outs in the inning.

The Red Foxes were held scoreless in the inning.

Mount St. Mary’s equaled the game at 1-1 on an error from the Red Foxes in the bottom of the fifth inning.

In the top-half of the sixth, Ethan Conrad picked up his first hit of the game with two outs.

Conrad was caught stealing and the Red Foxes were held scoreless in the inning.

In the seventh inning, Justin Kapuscinski recorded a single with two outs in the inning.

Hot followed Kapuscinski on base by reaching on an error.

Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, which put the Red Foxes at second and third.

The Red Foxes were held scoreless in the inning.

Jack Keenan pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Red Foxes.

In the eighth inning, Lewis Rodriguez reached base on a hit by pitch with one out.

Rodriguez was caught stealing second base in the inning.

Danny Moshier hit a triple with two outs in the inning.

Ethan Conrad reached base on an intentional walk after Moshier tripled.

Johnny Decker gave the Red Foxes a 2-1 lead on an infield RBI single.

Game Two
In the bottom of the first inning, Mount St. Mary’s struck first with five runs.

The Red Foxes trailed 5-0 after the first inning.

The Red Foxes committed two errors in the inning.

In the top-half of the second inning, Justin Kapuscinski walked to lead off the inning.

With one out, Kyle Pollack recorded a single which put the Red Foxes in scoring position.

Danny Moshier followed Pollack with a walk which loaded the bases with one out.

Lewis Rodriguez walked which brought home Kapuscinski for the Red Foxes first run.

Dylan Millman cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple, and the Red Foxes cut into the Mount lead 5-4.

Ethan Conrad hit an RBI double which evened the game at 5-5 in the inning.

Johnny Decker followed Conrad with a single, which put runners at first and third with one out in the inning.

Conrad scored on a wild pitch which gave the Red Foxes a 6-5 lead in the inning.

Colin Mackle reached base with a walk and kept the inning alive with two outs.

Justin Kapuscinski capped off the second inning with a two-run home run.

The Red Foxes led 8-5 after the top-half of the second inning.

Mount St. Mary’s cut into the Red Foxes lead with a solo home run.

The Red Foxes led 8-6 after two innings of play.

Mount St. Mary’s regained the lead with four runs in the third inning.

The Red Foxes trailed 10-8 after three innings.

The Red Foxes were held scoreless in the fourth inning.

Brian Yetter pitched a scoreless inning in the bottom-half of the fourth.

In the top-half of the fifth inning, Colin Mackle led off with a walk.

Mackle advanced to second on a passed ball.

In the top-half of the sixth inning, Dylan Millan hit a single with one out.

A double play ended the top-half of the inning for the Red Foxes.

Kempler pitched a scoreless bottom-half of the sixth inning for the Red Foxes.

Mount St. Mary’s added to their lead with two runs in the bottom-half of the seventh.

The Red Foxes trailed 12-9 at the end of seven innings.

In the top-half of the eighth inning, Pollack walked with one out in the inning.

Moshier followed Pollack with a single.

Lewis Rodriguez walked which loaded the bases with one out.
