NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh announces the bulk item pick-up program schedule for 2024. The program began on March 27, 2024, and will continue on a quarterly basis for the remainder of the year and is free of charge to all residents. The scheduled bulk item pickup dates are: June 26, September 25, and December 18.
Residents are required to schedule their bulk item pickup with the Department of Public Works Sanitation Division at (845) 565-1082 or the Department of Public Works at (845) 565-3297 by 3:00 p.m. the Tuesday before the collection date to schedule a pickup. Requests for pickup received after the cutoff time will not be scheduled.
Once scheduled, residents must put out their bulk items at curbside no earlier than the night before collection. Multi-unit dwellings have the option of scheduling a pickup by referencing their individual unit. There is a limit of five (5) items for pick-up per address.
The collection of bulk items is limited to indoor/outdoor furniture, washers/dryers, and tires. Building materials, car parts (except for tires), and hazardous items will not be collected. Anything beyond the allotted five (5) items will be left in place and must be removed by the residents.
