MAHWAH, NJ – Sophomore Jahmilia Dennis set the new school record mark in the triple jump on Friday night as the Vassar College Women’s Track and Field team made the short trip down to the Ramapo Last Chance Twilight Meet for the final tune-up before the AARTFC Regional Meet next week.
1500 Meters
Senior Amaavi Miriyagalla earned a sixth place finish with a time of 5:14.55.
5000 Meters
Sophomore Lily Shimpach finished third overall after crossing the finish line with a time of 19:55.55.
Triple Jump
Dennis posted a new school record mark of 11.83 meters to win the event and now ranks in the top-25 nationally in the triple jump and continues to hold the top spot in the Mideast Region.
Vassar will head to SUNY Cortland for the two-day AARTFC Championships with events beginning on Wednesday.
