Could You Be A West Point Cadet For A Day?

WEST POINT – Can you meet the challenge of West Point? The U.S. Military Academy will conduct a rehearsal for Reception Day on June 27 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the academy grounds. If you are interested, sign up to Be a Cadet for a Day!

Up to 250 members of the community are invited to assist the Corps of Cadets in preparation for the incoming Class of 2028. Participants will be given the opportunity to experience the initial transformation process from civilian to the military life of a new cadet.

Be a part of this storied tradition and help West Point prepare for this historic event.

Volunteers must register online on the R-Day sign-up page on or before June 26. Please note that online registration will close once 250 volunteers have signed up.

Participants must be 12 years of age or older, in good health and not be a candidate for the Class of 2028. Remember to dress comfortably in proper seasonal attire and bring one piece of luggage, or a duffel bag marked with your first and last name. Those attending should enter through Stony Gate. Proper identification will be required upon entering academy grounds and all vehicles are subject to search. All volunteers that do not have access to West Point, must coordinate with the Visitor Control Center to receive a temporary pass to get on base. It is recommended to obtain a pass before R-Day rehearsal on June 27.

Volunteers should report to A-Lot near Michie Stadium no later than 8:45 a.m. on June 27 with the completed volunteer agreement form. Parking is available, however drop off at A-Lot is encouraged. The rehearsal begins promptly at 9 a.m. and concludes with lunch in the Cadet Mess Hall from 12 to 1 p.m.
