Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Seeks Applicants

MONTGOMERY — Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. (GSHH) is currently accepting applications from adults with professional experience in accounting, law, property management, and DEI/RJ fields to join its Board of Directors. Applications are due by Tuesday, October 15, 2024 and applicants will be contacted and interviewed by GSHH’s Board Development Committee (BDC). If selected, will be added to the slate of candidates presented at the council’s 2025 Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson’s geographical footprint includes seven counties throughout the Hudson Valley – Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, and Sullivan. The Board Development Committee recommends applicants to have knowledge of the area and its communities through either living or working within the council’s borders.

Each year, GSHH’s Board Development Committee compiles a slate of candidates to present to the Board of Directors and voting members of the council to fill open spaces on its Board and BDC with individuals who best meet the needs of the Board and the council. Board Offices (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected to a two-year term and Directors-at-Large and members of the BDC are elected to a three-year term.

All terms will begin on March 1, 2025 after the results of the election are certified and elected members are sworn in. The roles and responsibility of GSHH Board Members are outlined on the Board/BDC application here. Interested applicants may reach out to the Board Development Committee with any questions at boarddevelopment@girlscoutshh.org.
