Hosted by local law enforcement Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange County) is delighted to announce he has secured $100,000 for ‘National Night Out’ events throughout Orange County this year. NNO is a national, annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer places to live. This year’s NNO falls on Tuesday, August 6.
Skoufis and his team distributed funding awards of $10,000 each to police departments in Crawford, Highland Falls, Goshen, Middletown, Mount Hope, New Windsor, Port Jervis, Tuxedo, Wallkill, and Warwick, all of which host National Night Out events in their communities.
“Our local police are the backbone of community safety in many of our communities across Orange County,” said Skoufis. “Ensuring that our neighbors continue to see law enforcement as partners in their community’s future is so critical for public safety, and any effort to increase this trust is worthwhile. I am grateful to our local law enforcement for all they do to keep Orange County a place we’re proud to call home.”
The Senator’s team will be in attendance at several National Night Out events across the county, sharing resources and greeting neighbors. To learn more about National Night Out, visit natw.org.
