NECSD Pink Day Will Be Celebrated October 25th

NEWBURGH – Grab your friends, family, and pink gear and join the Newburgh Enlarged City School District as they continue their 10 plus years of “Pink” Day tradition. This year the event will be held on Friday, Oct. 25th. As always they ask that you wear the “Cancer” color that means the most to you to support All Cancers Awareness.

They will once again have the “Pink” Day store that you can order apparel from. Proceeds will go to the Johnny Sileno Wishes for Wellness Foundation. Orders received after October 10th may not be received by October 25th.

They ask everyone who plans to attend the NFA Varsity Football game on Friday, October 25th to also wear their Cancer Colors in support of a loved one. Faculty & Staff, school and district groups, and teams who are interested in participating in the pre-game ceremony should line up by the Athletic Director’s office by 5:15pm. The Gold Gym entrance located on South Street will open at 4:30pm for those participants. The protocols outlined in the NFA GAME DAY FAN GUIDE should be followed.

About Pink Day 2024
For the last several years, NECSD has recognized Pink Day to honor those who have lost their battle with cancer. The first “Pink” Day was established by faculty and staff at Heritage Middle School in support of a colleague that was diagnosed with Breast Cancer over 10 years ago. During her fight the staff and faculty would all wear pink. Each year since, they have continued the concept of Pink Day throughout the district to recognize all faculty, staff, and students who are currently battling, survivors, or those who have lost their battles to cancer. This year, Pink Day is scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2024. They ask that the NECSD community wear pink or any color that represents any form of cancer as a tribute to fighting cancer.

Each year, the event recognizes members of the Goldback family who have lost their battle with any form of cancer. The day is dedicated to the fighters, survivors, and those who lost their battles to Breast, Prostate, Skin, Lung, Kidney, Blood, Bladder, Pancreatic, Childhood, Colon, Ovarian, and ALL other Cancers.
