NY State Sheriffs’ Institute Scholarship Recipient

Last Wednesday, Sheriff Figueroa had the distinct pleasure of presenting Camila Ortiz Lopez, a SUNY Ulster student, with a Criminal Justice Scholarship on behalf of the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute in recognition of her academic excellence and dedicated pursuit of a career in the field of Criminal Justice. We are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to her future successes! Thank you to the members of the SUNY Ulster staff who participated in and coordinated this event.

The New York State Sheriffs’ Institute Scholarship Program for Criminal Justice Majors provides a $500 scholarship to one student majoring in Criminal Justice, Police Science or a similar program from each community college in New York State, and SUNY Canton, each year. The Scholarship Program was established to help young people across New York pursue an education in criminal justice.
